Architect's Eye is a nationwide photography competition for qualified UK architects.

It is split into two categories:

1) Architecture and Place
2) Architecture and People

The former focuses on the aesthetics of the architecture and places it creates, while the latter explores and celebrates the interaction of people with the environments created by architecture. There are no restrictions on which buildings qualify for the competition.

The Winners of the 2009 competition were announced on Wednesday 11th November. Architecture and Place was won by John Barr's image 'Church of Light' and Architecture and People was won by Philippe Brysses' image 'The Wedding'. Click on the images to enlarge.

Judges include leading architects, professional photographers and commentators. The panel is also supported by the Royal Photographic Society and RIBA who have each provided a judge.

The competition was founded in 2007 by International Art Consultants, to recognise and encourage the many skilled photographers in the architects' community. The inaugural competition was an unqualified success, drawing plaudits from entrants and judges alike.
